Captain Matthew Trombley – 3rd Alarm Charters
Capt. Matthew Trombley is the owner & operator of 3rd Alarm Charters & guide Service of Proctor Vermont. He is a 20 year veteran of the City of Burlington Fire Department & a 26 year veteran of the Fire service. Matt has grown up hunting & fishing the woods & waters of Vermont & New York, guiding & chartering for the last 10 years. He has hunted & fished all over New England, the Midwest, Rockies & Canada, gaining knowledge of both the Big Game Outfitter & Fresh & Salt Water Chartering industry. Matt holds a U.S.C.G. 100 Ton Master Captains license, a NY State Licensed Guide & is a member of the Vermont Outdoor Guides Association, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation & Safari Club International.
His Guide & Charter Service offers late spring Striped Bass trips on the Hudson River, Landlocked Salmon, Lake Trout, Large & Smallmouth Bass, Pike & Walleye trips on Lake Champlain in mid-summer & fall along with King & Coho Salmon out of the city of Oswego on Lake Ontario during August & September. Matt runs his Hudson River & Lake Ontario trolling Charters from a 28ft Baha Cruisers charter boat with groups of up to 5 adults. His Lake Champlain trips are more guided hands on for groups of 2-3 people aboard his 20ft Starcraft center console, offering casting, jigging & trolling for all his Champlain species. He also offers guided Drift Boat trips for Salmon & Steelhead on the Famed Salmon River of New York from Late September through late April. Spring Turkey hunts & Fall Waterfowl trips round out the packages available through his guide service.
Capt. Matt has been an instructor in the Fire Service for over 20 years, he is also a guest speaker at many outdoor events & offers seminars at the many Trade shows he attends in the winter months. He has written articles for local online and paper publications of the Vermont & New England area, as well as extensively net working with Captains & guides throughout the Champlain & Hudson Valley & the east end of the Lake Ontario Basin.
